One house remaining only after the tsunami
The tsunami in Dec. 2004 officially took 5,400 lives.
But the real number was higher, very much higher. Experts were counting the real number to more than 9,000 lives. Illegal workers from Myanmar, native people like the Moken or Morgan, not registered citizen from other provinces, all this people were not been listed on a report and increased the number of the deaths.
At the house shown on this photo the people survived on the rooftop, other houses and huts all around where sweeped away.
The lucky miracle for the survivers was that the mighty wave destroyed all but not this only house. Why? Nobody could me explain.
The photo was captured in Khao Lak during our aid operation in Jan. 2005.

Wahnsinn!Der Mauerkonstellation sei Dank, dass das Wasser dort nahezu ungehindert durchfließen konnte und nicht höher als bis zur 1. Etage kam…
