Over land in Zhongdian

Its a great pleasure to start a trecking tour in the area of Zhongdiang. On the way down the long stairs leading to the main entrance/ exit of the Monastery are several smaller temples. They are quite interesting and few tourists visit them, especially the one to the right as you descend the stairs towards the entrance. The photo shows a ruine of the historic monastery and the hilly landscape behind the great Zhongdian Songzanlin Monastery.
