Please Read!! A Family On Their Way Out For A Bite To Eat. Travel Story Within.

Hello my friends and thank you all for your kind comments.
My plans have changed and I have had to help a friend and do some work for him, now I am leaving in ½ an hour bound for Tennant Creek, some 1,000 from here.
The town was a forerunner in telegraph offices connecting Australia with the outside world in this area.
In 1872 a temporary building for a telegraph repeater station was erected, two years later they built a permanent one,I believe it is still in existence.
The area was used as a pastoralist lease until 1930 when gold was discovered.
Then in 1934 the first store was built.
The opening up of the rich Tennant Creek gold field abundant with gold and marked the beginning of Australia's last great Gold Rush.
Tennant Creek has a few tourist attractions like the so called devils marbles; those who have travelled through would have seen them.
But I will take a few pics for you folk.
