Preßnitztalbahn - Out of the Forest, Into the Winter Sunshine
Crisp air and winter sunshine…
A shrill whistle and the ever-nearing, rhythmic CHUFF-CHUFF-CHUFF…
Then, out of the dark pine forest, this double-headed narrow gauge
steam goods train of the Preßnitztalbahn emerges into the warm light.
The Preßnitztalbahn is a museum railway operating between Steinbach and Jöhstadt,
over 750 mm narrow gauge track, through the pine forests and along the Wildbach
in eastern Germany’s Erzgebirge region, close by the Czech border.
