Pyrgus amoricanus

This is rare! Declining through the 70 ties, 80ties and 90 ties till in 2006 it had only one colony in Denmark where only few specimens flew. In august 2006 it was found a new place. It was exciting if it was still there in spring 2007...
And it was...some 25 specimens were seen at the new colony.
I went there twice to be sure to get photographs of this vulnerable and uncertain species.
They were well behaved for the camera, but escaped the eye easily...as they flew low in the grass well camouflaged grey on the grey sandy soil.
