QueensScape No.15 - Manhattan-Bound Astoria Line Train, Lower-Level by Queensboro Bridge
It is rush hour on a mid-December evening in Long Island City, Queens, as a Manhattan-bound Astoria Line train
of the New York City Subway system heads along the lower track level alongside the Queensboro Bridge in the
direction (toward left) of the ramp (*) that will take it down to the 60th Street Tunnel under the East River.
Moments earlier, the train departed the Lower Level (Manhattan-bound) platform of the
elevated Queensboro Plaza station (which also serves the 7 Flushing Line trains).
Astoria-bound N and W trains use the Upper Level platform and, likewise at this point, are
running above Manhattan-bound trains. The upper-level structure can be seen at top right.
At lower right is the bike and pedestrian path leading across the Queensboro Bridge.
