Remnant of Benito Mussolini Frozen In Time
Taking a voyage on old country roads in Italy are often boring, unless you are a landscape photographer. Lucky for us Street / photojournalist top photographers there is something more rewarding than just a pretty face. We get to read about history and sometimes if lucky, the people that changed or tried to, introduce a new concept for it’s people, and what they thought would be their inheritance on earth. Sitting on the bench exhausted I sat beneath a painting of National Fascist Party leader Benito Mussolini was identified by Fascists as Il Duce. The building is a rare find. HIs face riddled in bullets express the tragedy of World War Two first fighting the English and Americans in North Africa. Italy quickly surrendered, a part of it’s army turned against the Germans. The lopsided efforts rendered a few villages empty when they attacked Germans.
