Royal Castle in Warsaw
Royal Castle in the city of Warsaw (Warszawa), Poland (Polska). Once the home of Polish Kings and Lithuanian Dukes, the splendid building is the pride and joy of Warsaw. It was the royal residence from the 16th to 18th centuries. The, after the onset of WWII, the castle was demolished and it was later blown up following the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. After the war, it wasn't until 1971 that the decision to rebuild it was made. It was not until 1984 that the castle was completed and opened to the public as a museum.
