Speckled Wood Butterfly
Taken at Mere Sands between Preston and Southport in Lancashire, this is a Speckled Wood butterfly (I think!). Wingspan 47-50mm, likes bramble flowers and usually seen settling on sun-spotted leaves. If a common butterfly scored 5 points and a rare one scored 25 points, this butterfly would rate 15 points.
Photographed with my Canon EOS 300D, 1/100sec, F/6.3 at ISO 100.
Lens is Tamron 28-300mm zoom at 300mm.

Hi Paul,Welcome to the FC!
This is a very nice shot of a butterfly.
I like the outer areas of the image where the picture is getting blurred.
Really nice!
Regards
Simone
