The Peaceful Dove was very shy and difficult to photograph, which is unusual because it is a very trusting species that often looks for food between the tables in the outdoor areas of restaurants and cafés. This one is also not a purebred, the ornithologist could not tell me which breed is in it. Maybe that is the reason why she was so shy. It lacks the typical blue eye ring and the neck markings. The Peaceful Dove is found exclusively in Australia and New Guinea. It reaches a body length of 20 to 22 centimetres. It spends a large part of the day foraging on the ground and generally stays near water.

Die Friedenstaube war sehr scheu und schwer zu fotografieren was ungewöhnlich ist da sie eine sehr zutrauliche Art ist, die in den Außenanlagen von Restaurants und Cafés häufig zwischen den Tischen nach Nahrung sucht. Diese ist auch keine reinrassige, der Ornithologe konnte mir leider nicht sagen welche Rasse noch mit drin ist. Vielleicht ist das der Grund warum sie so scheu war. Ihr fehlt der typische blaue Augenring und die Hals Zeichnung. Die Friedenstaube kommt ausschließlich in Australien und Neuguinea vor. Sie erreicht eine Körperlänge von 20 bis 22 Zentimetern. Sie verbringt einen großen Teil des Tages auf Nahrungssuche am Boden und hält sich grundsätzlich in der Nähe von Wasserstellen auf.
