Taipeih

Taipei/Taiwan
I’ve knelt here tho, in quiet thoughts,
Amidst the red, the gold I sought,

tried to find answers life demands,
many question raised by unseen hands.

In all my sweat that glistens bright,
On my skin like silver, bathed in light,

The glow distorts each line and frame,
Yet peace still lingers in any flame.

Among the gold, the crimson bold,
I've found a bit of peace to hold,

As lavish leaves from lands afar
Struggle in europe beneath our star

We trap them in these vessels small,
To watch them grow, to watch them fall,

Though far from home, they learn to thrive,
Their foreign roots must fight to survive.

And here, these people humbly tread,
Respect for life in every thread

They bear the sweat of daily strife,
Yet never loud, they live their lives

They never boast, nor seek to shine
I saw kindness in their hearts align

my smile, my spark in foreign eyes
my green so rare beneath their skies

my baby I cherish so, here by my side,
Makes the "we" a thing of our ride

With wisdom gained from foreign souls,
returning home with many goals.

Now humbler still, I feel complete,
With lessons learned, my soul's so treat.
