The Crane Never Sleeps

It’s not yet dawn as our Lufthansa 747-400 taxis up to its gate at Frankfurt. Tailwinds over the Atlantic were quite favorable, and we arrived an hour early on this November flight. It was actually a trip to London, but if it means flying LH, and aboard a 747 at that, the three-hour layover at FRA before the hop back over to LHR is a mere brief detour…another exciting airport to enjoy.

As we arrive at our gate, A-380-800 “Peking” at the neighboring
gate is having meals loaded for her long-distance flight.
