The living Forest (11) : Fireweed.
Last weeks I was exploring several forests in the Belgian Ardennes.
This is the 11th. picture of a series illustrating the living forest.
In the summertime many wild flowers are growing, like this Fireweed which is widely spread amongst the Belgian Ardennes.
The name Fireweed derives from the species' abundance as a quick colonist on burned sites after forest fires.
Dutch name : Wilgenroosje
German name : Waldweidenröschen
Latin name : Chamerion angustifolium

Great contrast betwin pink and green.the ligth is very soft but magnific!!
