The Smell of AvGas in the Evening...
…if you’ll allow me my Robert Duvall Major Kilgore moment…
World War II era B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" is being refueled at Manassas Regional Airport at the end of an autumn day of flying passengers over the Virginia countryside and impressing spectators on the ground. The nacelles of her four radial engines have been covered up as her crew puts her to bed. This immaculately restored and iconic "Flying Fortress" aircraft was visiting northern Virginia in October, 2016.
