The Subway

I‘ve gratefully seen a lot of beautiful places all around the earth. I stood atop of the most famous mountains of the alps, spent time with outstanding photo shootings in the Scandinavian alpine world close to fjords, glaciers and solitary woods. I’ve enjoyed colorful sunsets in the African savanna and breathtaking views at many lovely spots along the Mediterranean Rivieras.
But the Subway in Utahs Zion National Park was surely one of the very highlights.
When I planned my latest (8th) trip to the southwest of the US, a place called “Subway” was just a white spot on my map. OK, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful pictures before, but, when I reached this slotlike canyon after a pretty nice hike, I was rather surprised. This place was everything but a “white spot”. The Subway is so rich in everything: bright colors, spectacular rock formations, flowing water, playing light.
I stood there for many hours, spent a wonderful time (mostly alone) with taking pictures and enjoying one of the most exciting freak of nature I’ve ever seen.
