The Vanvitelliana house


The Vanvitelliana house - of Lake Fusaro - in Bacoli Naples. In the second half of the 18th century, Ferdinand IV of Bourbon entrusted the construction of the Casina for hunting and fishing to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli and his son Carlo Vanvitelli.
A small islet is thus exploited in the lake of Fusaro, on which the Casina is supplied
Thus began the breeding of oysters.
In 1799, the Real Casina was invaded with the birth of the Neapolitan Republic and important works of art disappeared: 4 large paintings depicting the four seasons of P. Hackert and silk canvases from the Bourbon possession of San Leucio, part of the precious furnishings.
In 1819 it became the residence of illustrious guests, hosting the Austrian emperor Francesco II and later Mozart, Gioacchino Rossini, Tsar of Russia, Vittorio Emanuele III.
