Tobin Mask on Bali

The Balinese people believe that this dance that penetrates the divinity through the mask has great potential because the mask has a strong personal color, it can fully change people's impression of the character. Therefore, the dance is the speech of the "mask", not the performance of the wearer. When a mask of divine power was donned by a living dancer, the dancer would actually become the person or deity depicted by the mask.

This was a part of the perfomance on Pemuteran Bay Art Cultural Marine Festival 23-26. October 2016 on Bali
