Tought by need
Greece
In a remote village in south Crete
Priests in remote and mountainous places often have to cope with simple problems of everyday routine that become substantial so, by need, are compelled to develop exceptional skills on certain fields with carpentry being one on top...
The priest in the photo runs his parish duties in a remote village somewhere in south Crete. The church he serves is small but quite old and historic housing important mosaics and frescos. When we opened a discussion about them, he said:
" Taking care of these things is sombody else's job. Mine looks much simpler dealing with ordinnary life and common people commitments. But, I'm afraid, very often among them there are several others overwhelming and much more necessary and pressing that hands heve to deal with. And, beleive me, it's harder than delivering a sermon from the pulpit ! "
Anyway, that day I cought him fiddling with something light and pleasant:
" I'm curving a new and much endurable cane for my older days..." he added!
For moments I was jealous of his peace...

There is wonderful light in this photo and it has a nice point of view leading the eye through the picture. But you give away something, I think, by using too much grain which creates an artificial impression. Nevertheless a great shot.nice day for you, Alexander.
greetings, Jost.

Bella e accurata descrizione di un mondo antico che, fortunatamente, ostinatamente restiste alla "progresso".Un caro saluto,
