These are part of Namibia's Traditional sothu tribe. Pictured with them is mother and daughter! Many tourists stop here to have their picture taken with these mud covered ladies.

Priska, You are 100% correct and that is a sad fact of life! Tradition is slipping away and people and loosing their values in life. That is why I think its great that we can capture and keep these memories in forms of photographs. Generations to come will benefit from them!Priska Rüegg 19/11/2010 22:28
Please allow me to say, that I can't be indifferent while looking at picture and text. These tribes are loosing their old tradition and culture and are often reduced to some photo objects like the wooden masks they are selling here.Kind regards, Priska
