Troy VI East Gate

The strongly fortified East Gate of Troy VI (1750 - 1000 BC) with the outer bailey. The strong East Tower behind the photographer. The way into the citadel bends sharply to the left and uphill. The 'saw-tooth' wall is a special feature of the walls for optical reasons and probably better earthquake stability (as the undulating mansonry).
