UNDERGROUND HOSPITAL
Travel deep into the white cliffs to explore the atmospheric Underground Hospital. Converted into a hospital for injured troops in 1941, visitors today can experience the sounds, smells and atmosphere of the World War II hospital with its operating theatre.
Constructed in 1941-2 as Medical Dressing Station for injured troops, visitors today can experience the sounds, smells and atmosphere of the underground Second World War hospital with its operating theatre.
Follow the dramatic story of an injured pilot fighting for his life, told with exciting audio-visual effects, and discover what life was like for those men and women working here during Second World War.
The tour continues around several rooms, reconstructed to look as they would have done during WWII, including the kitchen and dormitory for the Women's Auxilliary Air Force (WAAF).
