Washington's Key Bridge, Golden Hour, Early Spring
On the second day of April, the branches of trees on this hillside overlooking the Potomac and the George Washington Parkway in Arlington, Virginia, are still winter-bare, affording a photographer on the Mount Vernon Trail a pleasing view of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which connects Washington's Georgetown with Rosslyn in Arlington County.
The bridge is one of Washington's major crossings over the Potomac River. Upstream, through the bare branches of the tree at left can be seen the spires of Georgetown University, occupying high ground in this section of the Nation's Capital.
