Where Choptank Meets Chesapeake - A Tilghman Island Impression
Black Walnut Point, at the southern extremity of Tilghman Island on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay.
Whether stretching out languorously in that inviting hammock, relaxing on a bench, or walking the grounds,
this point of land provides a view of the confluence of the Choptank River, a major waterway on Maryland's
Eastern Shore, with the broad waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
The Choptank side is toward the left, the Bay on the right. I guess you'll have to take my word for the waterscape
only hinted at in my photo. The road to the Black Walnut Point Inn is private, but at least the tele-compression of the
85mm view from the seawall along the Bay will, I hope, allow you to imagine one of the many inviting destinations
in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Region, or as residents are fond of calling it, "The Land of Pleasant Living."
