Wildlife sanctuary
Cambodia wildlife sanctuary - This foundation protect and conserve millions of jungle habitat. These project aims to protect land and all oft he native species, flora and fauna, including tigers, monkeys, buffalos and the Asian elephants.
I am volunteering in Cambodia Wilrdlife Sanctuary for a week and it would be truly an extraordinary experience. I already meet amazing people here which are doing amazing work for animals and the environmet. My work as volunteer consist to planting trees, collecting seeds, identifying plant and animal species, making trails, developing an on-site school, working with the local community to establish educational outreach programs for children, gardening, helping with minor construction (tables, fences, etc.), and literally anything else that might pop up!
Today i was able to join the Mahouts for a jungle walk with the elephatns, it was just WOW. However a mahout is personally responsible for the welfare of his elephant and lives in close contact with them, They feed and bath them and keep watch for any medical needs. Many of the elephants living at the sanctuary have been rescued from street begging, elephant riding, and shows, where they often sustained both physical and psychological injuries.
Volunteering to help out, or just visiting to help them raise funds and spread the word is well worht it!
