Yosemite Chipmunk

It took me forever to get this little guy. They never stay still for more than 2 s at a time! The light was waning, I was laying on my stomach following the little guy around as he flitted about, shoving leaves and other litter into his mouth. And then by sheer luck in a matter of 2 seconds the little fellow actually stopped moving and my finger his the shutter button. At the time I didn't know what I'd captured since it was so dark by then. It was only when I had a chance to upload the photo to my computer that I discovered that he was even in perfect focus. I have a whole new respect for wildlife photographers now.... This is one of my favorite photos... probably because of the combination effort and luck that was required to get it.
