I kinda' like it. One of the better self portrait camera in the mirror shots I've seen. Personally I like the flash and the way it illuminates your hand. The scratches are very distracting. Aside from that it's pretty cool.
Imagine my excitement when it said not one, but FOUR new comments. Wow !! I thought. Then it turned out to be Mr Mitchell !! lol
Ok, Rob. Glad you appreciated the control on the flash (minimum exposure, minimum flash, polarizing lens).
And what you do spell with an 'L' is "The German postal system seems to be the slowest in the world, otherwise I would have my Nikon D70 by now". Or is that spelt with a ' TGPSSTBTSITW,OIWHMNDSBN' ?
So for the time being L is for Panasonic Lumix still. (Serious offers of £4000+ for the Lumix will be considered).
Ok I'll be brave and say something. I like the composition - but the flash flare does distract. Also as you have mentioned the 'dirty' parts of the photo are distracting too - if you have PS I would clean them up.
Having said all that - I like it because I had to look twice to check it was yr hands in the photo - then that could just be me.
Being slightly off centre is ok as I don't like centred photos - so all in all well done
Continuing my single-handed debating society......
The parts of the picture that I wasn't very happy with include not getting the lens absolutely dead centre and possibly failing to get all the dust off the mirror (which may explain why some parts of the shot look 'dirty').
Come along people. Quite a few have clicked on this image. Somebody must have something to say surely - even if they think its rubbish. I won't cry, honestly !!
Its kind of tragic that I am forced to comment on my own photo, but here goes.
I don't often take pictures of people, especially not myself. But I liked this one because I think I achieved a nice depth to it. It didn't look flat and even given the use of the flash managed to retain some detail in the hands themselves.
Its not perfect (but then I'm not anyway).
So, well done me. Pat on the back and all that stuff !!
