Hi everyone
I don't know what I am expected to say so please make allowances if I make a fool of myself. I am 52 years of age and a self-employed builder with a small business in the North East of England. I started photography 2 years ago when my grandmother left me some money in her will. I bought a Canon 400D DSLR and got hooked. Two years on and I am still passionate about photography. I hope one day to become professional so that I can leave the building trade and pursue my passion. At the moment I am studying photography at our local college and I am really enjoying the challange and no doubt will be studying for the next few years. I recently gave my Canon 400D to my son Christopher who is also studying photography with me. I replaced the camera with a Canon 5D and I am in the process of familiarising myself with it.
I like all types of phototgraphy, but I am mainly interested in nature, wildlife and landscapes. Recently however, I have started to take an interest in art photography. I have no favorite photographers and am not influenced by anything in particular, I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but I have an open mind.
Well I hope that gives you a little bit of an insight to my world and hope to make new friends and learn a lot more about photography from our future conversations.
Regards to you all
Ian.
