Kirkjufell im Licht

An diesem Tag, besser Abend, meinte es der bereist schon ein paar mal erwähnte Sturm ernst:
Er begrüßte uns mit 130 km/h, als wir wieder auf die Nordseite der Halbinsel kamen.
Unser Suzuki Jimny wechselte auf dem Weg zurück zum Hotel hin und wieder ungeplant die Spur - zum Glück ist auf Sneafellsnes selten jemand unterwegs - und machte die letzten Kilometer spannend...

... ausgerechnet an diesem Abend zeigte sich der Himmel bereit uns eine Show zu bieten. Sollte ich doch das schwer erhoffte Foto von Wasserfall, Kirkjufell und Nordlicht bekommen? Ich müsste nur losfahren!

... tja ...

Nach den Erfahrungen der letzten Tage wollte ich es allerdings nicht darauf ankommen lassen, zu gefährlich ist der steile Pfad am Wasserfall.

Nächstes Mal klappt es vielleicht!

Mit dieser schönen LB als Kirkjufell des Tages bin ich aber auch sehr zufrieden - und hatte einen sicheren Standort!!

On this day, or rather evening, the storm we had already mentioned a few times was serious:
It greeted us with 130 km/h when we got back to the north side of the peninsula.
Our Suzuki Jimny changed lanes every now and then on the way back to the hotel - luckily there is rarely anyone on the road on Sneafellsnes - and made the last few kilometers exciting...

... That evening, of all nights, the sky was ready to put on a show for us. Was I going to get that elusive photo of the waterfall, Kirkjufell and the Northern Lights? All I had to do was set off!

... Well ...

After the experiences of the last few days, however, I didn't want to take the chance, the steep path at the waterfall is too dangerous.

Maybe next time it will work!

But I'm also very happy with this beautiful LTE as the Kirkjufell of the day - and I had a safe location!!!
