Through the S-Curves, Late on a Winter Afternoon - An Astoria Line Moment
As the late afternoon winter sun paints a shaft of golden light through a canyon of high-rises in downtown
Long Island City, a Manhattan-bound Astoria Line train of R160 railcars snakes its way through the S-curves,
high above the street grid on the way to Queensboro Plaza Station, its final stop in the borough of Queens.
After departing the lower-level platform of that elevated station, the train will descend a ramp
alongside the Queensboro Bridge to enter the 60th Street Tunnel under the East River to Manhattan.

As you could expect, I simply love this fine example of urban railway photography. The light, the perspective, the train against the cityscape is just fantastic.Best regards from Cologne
