Moray eel in the free environment
Normally we only see moray eels when they look out of their caves or crevices, during the day only the head usually sticks out of the shelter.
This time I was lucky and was able to lure the moray eel out of its loophole and observe it in the wild.
About 200 species of moray eels are known in Asian waters. This one was an estimated one and more than a half meters long. Morays are not aggressive, but curious and playful. It swam happily under me until she suddenly changed direction and disappeared back into her hole.
