Not quite Winter No. 3 — a Virginia Piedmont Impression

I've always loved the seemingly limitless complex forms of winter-bare trees, whether framing
favorite architectural motifs in New York (*) or as a foreground for landscapes, especially when
dramatic skies can be an element of the composition.

And Mother Nature was certainly cooperating on this November 6 afternoon, with a frontal passage
bringing a sequence of photo-enticing skies over the Fauquier County town of Delaplane in the
Virginia Piedmont. The photo makes its first appearance tonight.
